The tradition of the St. Matthews Fair has been archived in the National Library since 1595. It became famous because it was the first spring fair in Prague, celebrating the feast of St. Matthew on 24th of February. It is also the first spring fair in Europe.

There are about 120 domestic and foreign attractions on the exhibition grounds, including roller coaster, houses of horror, carousels, waterfalls, cannonballs, VR machines, bumber cars, etc. One of the most famous and very popular attractions is the giant ferris wheel, from which you can see not only the whole fair, but also the beauty of Stromovka Park.

Even though St. Matthews Fair is mainly a place for kids, there is a wide range of adrenaline-pumping attractions dedicated especially for adults.

In addition to all the fun, there are various musical performances and food stands selling all sort of delicious sweets like traditional gingerbread in the shape of heart, Turkish honey, cotton candy. And if you will get tired of the sweets, you can try typical grilled Czech sausage, Czech beer or other junk food.

The fair runs from 5th of March to Easter Monday 18th of April at the Vystaviste fair complex near Holešovice district where there is also a small park with a singing fountain.
